Admissions

How do I apply for admission?
We're glad you asked. Click here to apply online. You may also contact one of our admissions professionals here or by calling 717-545-4747 to set up an interview at our campus.

When should I apply to KTI?
KTI operates on an open admissions schedule, meaning that there is no application deadline-you can register for your program until the course is full. However, some of our courses can fill up in advance, so it's best to apply and register as soon as you have determined what program you're interested in.

What are the admissions requirements?
Generally speaking, a person applying to KTI must be a high school graduate or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED). We evaluate all applicants individually, and we look forward to discussing your future at KTI.

How will I know if KTI is right for me?
The best way to know how a school fits you is to experience it first-hand. You can do that by contacting us here or by calling 717-545-4747. Simply select a date, let us know you're coming, and we'll be ready. We will visit with you about your plans, show you the campus, and schedule a visit for you with a member of our staff who will discuss your academic and career interests.

What's the difference between getting a diploma and an occupational degree?
In obtaining an occupational associate degree, students are typically here full-time. Their hands-on technical classes are more in-depth and they spend more time in the lab. As KTI's occupational associate degree programs are accredited, your degree represents a greater mastery of your program area. With a diploma, students take technical, hands-on classes in a shorter period of time.

Do KTI credits transfer to other schools?
Keystone Technical Institute has articulation agreements with DeVry and the University of Phoenix. Credit transfers to other schools are done on a case-by-case basis. The listing of credits is not meant to imply transferability into college programs. A credit hour is a unit of measure, not necessarily an indication of transferability of credit. The receiving institution, rather than the training institution, decides whether to accept credits for transfer.

Financial Aid

Is financial aid available at KTI?
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Keystone Technical Institute participates in several types of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, most of which are based on financial need.

How do I apply for financial aid?
We encourage you to sit down with one of our Financial Aid professionals to fill out the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). By working closely with our talented Financial Aid staff, you can take advantage of their experience and familiarity with the process.

Are there deadlines to applying for grants and loans?
There is a deadline to file for the PHEAA grant. May 1 of each year is the deadline for previous students and August 1 of each year is the deadline for new students. Also, PELL grant applications must be filed by June 30 of the current academic year for the enrollment period of July 1 - June 30. However, student loans do not have specific filing deadlines.

When do I find out if I get financial aid?
You will be sent an award letter as soon as it is processed. This typically takes 2 to 3 weeks after you've completed your application (i.e, after you have submitted all the requested documentation), although KTI's financial aid professionals can provide you a very accurate estimated award letter immediately after you complete the financial aid application.

Does Keystone Technical Institute accept credit cards?
Yes. KTI accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express for payment on any financial obligation to our school.
